Full steps to set up a Minecraft server on an Ubuntu 17.10 Dedicated server:
mkdir [filename]
cd [filename]
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install default-jdk

wget [download link]
mv [oldfilename] spigot.jar
java -Xmx6G -Xms6G -jar spigot.jar nogui
nano eula.txt
java -Xmx6G -Xms6G -jar spigot.jar nogui
Use ctrl + c to stop your server
