Steps to setting up static websites inside of Amazon S3 bucket hosting & pointing your own domain from a domain registrar to Amazon web services.

1. Create Amazon Web Services (AWS) account…Get billing verification

2. Click on “S3” link under Storage

3. Create your bucket using your domain as the bucket name, and select region

4. Create required folders

5. Upload relevant files

6. Click on “Properties” and select “Permissions”

7. Click on “Add Bucket Policy” and copy & paste the bucket policy here (change the domain to your own domain)

“Action”: “s3:GetObject”,
“Resource”: “*”

8. Click on “Static Website Hosting” and select “enable website hosting”

9. Add in the Index Document & Error Document file

10. Copy the Endpoint link address without the www. and paste that into your domain registrar “CNAME WWW” record within its DNS settings.

Open new browser tab and view domain to ensure website is visible.
